Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Ovate Technologies for your use of OvateChat. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
Zero tolerance You control your data We cannot read your messages
1. Who we are
OvateChat is operated by Alzajel Technology LLC, trading as Ovate Technologies ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@ovatechat.com.
2. Who may use OvateChat
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. You may not use OvateChat if we have previously removed your account for breaking these terms.
You are responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your device and recovery phrase secure. Because your messages are end-to-end encrypted and we never hold your keys, we cannot recover your account or your message history for you if you lose both your recovery phrase and every signed-in device.
3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on OvateChat. You agree not to use OvateChat to send, request, or solicit any of the following:
- Content that sexually exploits or endangers a child, in any form. We report this to the relevant authorities.
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, or intimidation of any person.
- Hate speech, or content attacking people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Sexually explicit content sent to anyone who has not asked for it, and any sexual content involving a minor.
- Content that promotes, incites, or glorifies violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
- Impersonating another person or organisation, or misrepresenting your affiliation with one.
- Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, scams, phishing, or fraud.
- Malware, or attempts to compromise the service or other people's accounts.
- Anything unlawful where you or the recipient are.
Breaking this section can cost you your account, permanently and without notice.
4. Reporting, blocking, and what we do about it
Every conversation gives you two controls, and you do not need our permission to use either:
- Block. A blocked person cannot message you or see your activity, immediately. You can unblock at any time from Settings → Privacy → Blocked users.
- Report. You can report a message or an account to us. When you report, your device sends us the specific messages you are reporting, so that a person here can judge the report rather than act on an unverifiable accusation.
We act on reports within 24 hours. Where a report is upheld we remove the content available to us and suspend or permanently remove the account responsible. Repeat or severe breaches — child safety above all — result in permanent removal on the first report.
Filing reports you know to be false, in order to have someone else removed, is itself a breach of these terms.
5. What we can and cannot see
Your messages are end-to-end encrypted. We do not hold the keys, and we cannot read your conversations — not to moderate them, not on request, not at all. This is a deliberate design and it has a consequence worth stating plainly: we cannot proactively scan for objectionable content the way an unencrypted service can.
What we can do, and do, is act on what people show us. A report includes the messages the reporter chose to disclose from their own device. That is the only circumstance in which message content ever becomes readable to us, it is limited to what that person sent, and it is deleted once the report is resolved and the retention period has passed. See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Your content
What you send stays yours. You give us only the narrow permission needed to run the service: to relay your encrypted messages and store them briefly until they are delivered. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it. Delivered message content is not retained on our servers.
7. Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that is used to harm other people, or where we are required to by law. Where we can do so safely we will tell you why. If you believe we have made a mistake, write to support@ovatechat.com and a person will look at it again.
You can delete your own account at any time from Settings, or at ovatechat.com/delete-account.
8. The service is provided as it is
We work to keep OvateChat available and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, OvateChat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us — which, for a free service, is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app and update the date above. Continuing to use OvateChat after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
